Sleeping in a treehouse suspended from the ground between four Melina trees.
Joseph Mikrut lives in Costarica, between Montezuma, Mal Pies/Santa Teresa and Cobano and he “had initially thought to build this sacred geometry structure on the ground, but then when checking out the tree’s in the area. These 4 lovely Malinia trees in a circle called out to him. One branched out in such a way that made a perfect 5 sided chalice if you will. A perfect holding spot for this structure with a pentagon shaped floor.
The first structure, what’s now the bedroom is actually suspended on cables between these 5 main strong trunks. The shape is called an Icosahedron. Which is one of the 5 platonic solids. It’s made up of 20 equilateral triangles that meet at 12 points or vertices that roughly make a spherical shape.
It’s assembled using all materials purchased here locally in Costa Rica, except for these plates that come in a kit for this purpose. … Joseph is one of the owners of Ranch Delicioso and Anamaya Resort. His 2 acre lot is part of the farm project. He fully designed and built this very special house in the trees. It’s composed of 4 structures, a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom (and a half) and lookout/meditation platform called the Awarenest. All of the trees holding the structures are Melina trees, a farmed tree used for construction in the area because it grows so fast and is nearly bug proof. The tree house is fully functional with electricity, running water, flushing toilets, hot shower, plenty of storage space and even a flat screen TV and sound system”. Ranch Delicioso
